The NHL Ratings

No, we're not talking here about the miniscule TV ratings for Hockey from this past season on OLN. What we are talking about here are the just released player and team ratings put together by "experts" at EA Sports for the new upcoming season of NHL 07 which are supposed to mirror in virtual reality the actual play on the ice for the new season of real NHL play.
Since the strike ended, hockey fans have witnessed some breathtaking play, but now the excitement moves to the Xbox 360 when NHL 07 is released this September.

But what's the first thing fans and players do when they get the game? Forget playing, they all go to the roster screens and debate the ratings. But why wait until September, let's start the debate right now.
So, if you want to know what the Cyber Puck experts (ex-NHLers) over at EA Sports think about your favorite teams and/or players for the upcoming season.... check out their ratings and attributes for every player in the game for 07.

Also, here's a very in-depth and informative look at EA's NHL 07.

The 2K Hockey series of Hockey games developed by Kush Games have dominated the market in recent years and EA is hoping the new innovations they're introducing with NHL 07 will put them back in favor with Video Hockey Gamers. We'll just have to wait and see if their plans work out.

So, until then... game on... and on.

What are your opinions of both games so far? After just reading about them/seeing videos that is.

I've been playing 2K6 and have enjoyed it more than I ever thought I would. Having said that I like what NHL 07 has done with their stick controls for their new game. Probably the deciding factor for me as far as the new installments go is that 2K7 will have full online play capabilities, NHL 07 will not. Also, the pricing for the 2K series has been quite a bit lower than EA's NHL 07.
